EPIC School: History and Founders
The EPIC School was founded by a small group of families who came together to face the challenge of finding an appropriate educational program for their children with autism. These eight founding families, together with professionals, worked to build a comprehensive Applied Behavior Analytic program for their children. In the fall of 1997, EPIC opened its doors to the first students in a rented space in Fair Lawn, NJ. Over the years, the location of the school has changed, but the commitment to providing a quality education has not. Today, EPIC is located in a building purchased by the families of students in the fall of 2002 and continues to fulfill its original mission of providing individuals with autism with a scientifically-validated education and treatment. In 2016 EPIC expanded the existing campus to include a Life and Vocational Skills Center that will prepare adolescents for adulthood.
